Hydroponics Garden: Considerations & Steps to build

Hydroponics is the method of growing plants in a nutrient rich water medium without using traditional methods of growing in soil medium. Various mediums can be used in hydroponics ranging from gravel, perlite, fired clay balls, fiber glass to sand.

Miniature plants
Considerations for hydroponics gardening
  • Types of plants suitable for hydroponics: The plants in hydroponics gardening are anchored to the growing medium and almost any type of plant can be grown by hydroponics. Following are a few plants that can be grown in hydroponics:
    • Vegetable plants (cucumbers, tomato, pepper, squash)
    • Kitchen herbs
    • Flowering plants
For plants growing in hydroponics, the nutrient solution provides nutrient to the roots directly.
Usually, plants with shorter roots and denser root balls grow well in hydroponics. Most of the energy is used for plant growth instead of root growth. Plants with large roots such as radishes, potatoes, carrots cannot be grown in hydroponics gardening.
  • Growing medium
    • The main purpose of the growing medium is to aerate well, support the root system of the plant, and to channelize the nutrients and water properly.
    • Hydrocon is one of the fastest draining mediums, which is an expanded form of clay aggregate.
    • The other type of growing medium used is rock wool that is generally pressed into growing blocks and cubes produced from lime stone and volcanic rock.
    • It is commonly used for propagation purpose.
  • Nutrient medium
    • The nutrient solution of the hydroponic medium contains all the elements that a plant needs to grow.
    • Similar to soil, hydroponic systems can be fertilized with chemicals and organic nutrients.
    • Chemical nutrients can be used as the main food supply along with organic nutrients.
  • pH
    • Plants grown in hydroponics require a pH of 5.8 to 6.8. Testing the pH of the nutrient medium is easy and is essential in hydroponics system. Testing can be done using the common pH measuring kits available in the market.
    • In case pf pH alterations, the level can be adjusted by adding sufficient amounts of potash in case of raising it and phosphoric acid to lower the pH.
Steps to build a hydroponics garden
  • The first step in making a hydroponics garden is that decide what you want to grow specifically.
  • Ensure the number of plants of a particular type to be grown and decide it properly.
  • Depending on the number of plants, estimate the size of area needed.
  • Evenly mark and space four inch holes for th4 inch pots for placing in them.
  • Make a hydroponic medium of water and fertilizers by maintaining the pH of 5.5-6.5. plant the seedlings by taking them out of their pots and washing away any soil if present on the roots.
  • Now, place clean seedlings in the growing medium and in to the hydroponic solution.
  • Control chemical balance of nutrients to water by adding more water because water will be evaporated very quickly.
  • Keep plants away from pests and also look over if any root rotting occurs.
  • Harvest when needed and flush the entire system and sterilize using copper sulphate solution and peroxide to kill mold and bacteria.
Foods made from plants grown by hydroponics are not only rich in nutrients but also taste better. A yielding garden can be made in less space with the right plant selection and by keeping the pests away. This article helps one to know the major considerations and the right steps to follow while starting a hydroponics garden.

Cloud Business Software Applications

Cloud computing is a popular term associated with use of software technology. Accessing an application or a piece of information through the Internet or network, which can be accessed by the others in the same network, and can modify at a time and be shared among them. It is generally maintained in a server.

Cloud based business applications have led to a wide range of benefits for businesses. With the cloud computing, there is no need to maintain a huge infrastructure to operate the software and its maintenance. Thus it leads to saving time and money for the organization. They can spend on other activities.

Now we are going to discuss the characteristics of cloud computing.

Characteristics:
  • On demand self-service: To access the server time and network storage need, manual permissions like sending emails filling forms, etc. is done. Here we can quickly and automatically connect to the required service without any human interaction.
Thus the maintenance of infrastructure, human force for maintenance and delay in work are negligible. It involves Just connect to the application and start using it.
  • Broad network access: When we have access to the Internet, we can access the cloud services. This is called broad network access. Accessing involves network computer or phone or personal digital assistant (PDA).
Because of this type of facilities, companies are offering their employees the option of working at home. The managers or employees can work from their phones or PDA’s even they are not available physically. Thus, work does not stop.
  • Resource pooling: We do not know from where the data is accessed and modified. It can be done from different places by the employees of the organization. A pool of resources is allocated to them such as processor, memory, network, bandwidth etc.
  • Rapid elasticity: We can increase or decrease the capabilities such as processor, storage etc. It can be done instantly or within a few minutes. If it is your own infrastructure, it takes much less time ranging from hours to a few days.
In case it is not required again by a process, it is wastage the money and time. In cloud, the infrastructure is in virtual form and someone maintains online. We just need to subscribe or unsubscribe for the service.
  • Measured Service: Measured service are also known as pay per usage, subscription services, etc. Measured service means the resources we use are measured and billed for that only. So how much we are used that much we pay.
Cloud business software applications are getting more popular, because of low cost, easy to operate and maintain. Businesses can customize it use it for their benefit.

How to Place a Wall Art?

Decorating your home with a piece of wall art is likely to give a better look and an aesthetic look to people living in the home. However, it is not only selecting a wall art for home is difficult but how to place them is a great task.

The art work you select should be hung in a way that it is the center of attraction, which makes the room look better. If you have already purchased an artwork or a painting for home, and it is ready for hanging but you are confused on how and where to hang it,  here are  tips that are helpful in such a situation.

Artwork according to the wall size: When  hanging a wall art consider the space of the wall. Small size art should be chosen for narrow walls and big size for large walls or else you can hang 4-6 small pieces of artwork on a big wall. Pieces of small sizes hung on wider walls will make them less visible on wall, and do not impress visitors. Another way of hanging wall art is that you can place vertical form of artwork on narrow walls to make the space look bigger. Make sure that you don't hang art too high or too low. It should be placed centrally on the wall and at eye level.

Artwork according to the furniture size: When you are hanging an artwork on the wall, see that it should not be bigger than the width of the furniture. For instance, a large painting hung above small coffee table will make the painting look out of size and gives an awkward look to the wall. Similarly, if you want to place an art or painting on the back of sofa wall, go for horizontal painting and this should be according to the size of the sofa

Artwork according to the style of the room: When placing a piece of art, make sure that it matches the style of the room. For instance, arranging the paintings in symmetrical form is formal and traditional style.

Asymmetrical style is casual and modern. This style of placing artwork can be used in modern rooms. Use large wall art in modern rooms. Whereas if you want to give a vintage look to any room, place black and white pictures, botanical prints etc. Also consider the style of the frames.

With proper tips and techniques of hanging wall art, you can make it look great and display it effectively.

Used Car Audio System Test

The people who are educated and experienced in used car buying know about the importance of test drive of a vehicle before they are purchasing. Some people even thoroughly inspected the vehicle by a professional mechanic. A certified pre-owned checklist is offering by the manufacturers through online. Very rarely a used car buyers just turn on the audio system only to check for working or not. To listen the unusual sounds from drive-train or engine usually buyers turn off the audio system. If you are interested for the audio system in the car when you are off the wheels, and wants to test the audio system to do not disappoint later, follow these steps. It do not require any special tools, by paying attention to the stereo system for a few minutes you can estimate the condition and the performance of the audio components with your ears and eyes.
  • Telltale signs check: You need to check for some components in the used car's audio system to know about the quality. You can identify whether there is any different or aftermarket audio system was installed in the vehicle by looking at wiring for speakers and amplifiers that have been left behind. Some people use low quality or inexpensive equipment to fill the holes left by previous equipment. Look for the mismatched speakers or improperly fitting car stereo. If you are suspected that the vehicle audio system was previously installed, you may want to see in the trunk, under the dash and behind the trim panels for possible damage to the vehicle. The metal panels many cut to install the large speakers, the unplugged screw holes may cause leak fumes or water into the car. To know the condition and age of the speakers look at them from either inside the trunk or through the grilles. The speakers installed in the door are susceptible to water damage, and the rear speakers to sun exposure. Check for any material fall from speakers, and small, brittle pieces of foam.
  • Sound Check: Check the radio is properly tunes in the stations. You can check any engine related noises coming through the speakers by start the engine. If you hear sounds, ticking or whining is change with the engine rpm. Defective component or poor wiring may cause this. Next, listen with your familiar music as with louder volume while driving and normal volume while parked to check the system performance on the road noise.
  • Visual check: Check the radio antenna while checking interior for any signs of hanging on or missing or broken. If it is power antenna, check the working condition. Check the speaker grilles, speakers and radio is at the right place, any parts are missing, poorly installed. Some owners and most of the dealers are preferred for factory appearance of a used car, so they remove the aftermarket sound system or any other components from the vehicle.
  • Systematic approach: First power up the head unit. Verify it crates sound and check the power antenna operating properly. Check the radio functions like scan and seek. Check the speakers at normal volume individually. Check the system by fading the way to rear and move balance from left to right and right to left, then fade to front and repeat the same process.
The problems you find from this may not effect on the buying decision whether to buy or not. However, you can negotiate the price up to the repairs or ask for discounts from a dealership.

What Does Wheel Drive in Cars?

lThe wheel receives torque from a powertrain which makes the car move on the road. The powered wheels are called as wheel drive. There are basically two wheel drive (2WD), four wheel drive (4WD) and all wheel drive (AWD) cars available at present. In this article, we discuss about them briefly.

Two wheel drive
Two wheel drive of the car will have the torque to move the car. In the two wheel drive there are of two types. They are:
  • Front wheel drive: Front two wheels are connected with torque. They are easier to steer, smaller and better traction in mud and snow. The robust system is less stronger than the rear wheel.
  • Rear wheel drive: Back two wheels are connected with torque. The robust system is stronger than the front wheel system. They are tend to be larger. Service to the individual components is easy. With the addition of the locking differential system drive wheel traction can improve. These can accelerate more quickly, offer a smoother drive and stop more easily.
Advantages of two wheel drive
  • The maintenance costs are lower than the four wheel drive cars because of fewer powertrain parts.
  • The power usage is lower so the fuel consumption is lower.
  • Purchase cost is less than the four wheel drive.
  • The curb weight is less and can carry more payload.
Four wheel drive and all wheel drive
Driver controlled part time four wheel drive is called as four wheel drive (4WD) within in the truck industry. If it is full time and automatically controlled system it is called as all wheel drive (AWD). It has the ability to control slippery or off road conditions.

Wheel drive determine steps
  • Locate the engine in your car. Some cars have engine in front and some cars in rear. So check where is your car engine and locate it.
  • Check the engine is mounted sideways or front to back. If the engine is mounted sideways or transverse with one side facing belts, it is most likely a front wheel car. If the engine is mounted front to back or longitudinally and belts facing to the front grille, it is likely a rear wheel car. So check how engine is mounted.
In all the wheel drives when the steering is used only front wheels turn. When stuck in snow or mud front wheel and four wheel drive can regain the traction by turning the steering slightly. The rear wheel will provide more traction.

Get to Know Different Types of Dental Implants

Dental Implants London
Dental implants are meant to replace missing teeth. They are likely to improve the user's appearance and speech. Many Implants are made of titanium, as titanium has ability to integrate with jaw bone effectively. In this article we will discuss three types of dental implants.

Different types of dental implants are:

1. Subperiosteal dental implant
This type of dental implant is used in patients who have little space in bone. These implants are placed not inside the bone but are on top of the bone. There are two sorts of surgeries involved in this process.

During the first surgery, an incision is made in the jawbone for the implant to fix in. And, the follow-up surgery involves opening of jaw bone again, and a metal frame is fitted on it. After the healing of gums, implant is then attached to the jaw, following taking impression of teeth for new crown.

Dental Implants London
2. Transosteal dental implants
This type of dental implants are rarely used by dentist today. These are u-shaped, and in this process, the entire jawline is drilled. It also requires opening of the skin under the chin.
This implant has screws that are inserted in the jaw bone. The screws make a way through the entire jaw bone and appear under the chin. Then, a pressure plate and nut are attached to keep them secure.

3. Endosseous dental implant
This type of dental implant is expensive, and are frequently used by doctors. An endosseous dental implant looks like a screw with smooth or hard surface. The procedure for this implant also involves two surgeries.

It is done under local or general anesthesia. An incision is made where the implant has to be placed. The jaw bone is drilled to make space. Then, the implant is screwed either manually or with the help of the implant drill. The second component of the implant is screwed in to the implant, and will be there during the healing period. One or two stitches are done to close the gums, after which they are left for healing.

The following surgery involves an incision to reopen the gums to make an extension to the implant so that the new crown sits on it. After this surgery, healing takes time. When your gums are totally healed your surgeon will call you for taking impression of teeth, after the placement of dental crown.

Conclusion
The type of the dental implant is suggested by the surgeon depending on your condition of gums and your health. Discuss with them the pros and cons before making you decide to go for dental implant procedure.
