Long Term And Short Term Effects Of Psychedelic Mushrooms

Psilocybin mushrooms also known as psilocybian mushrooms are fungi usually of psilocybe genus, which has psychedelic (affects the mind causing unclear visions, psychoactive) substances psilocybin and psilocin. Other common names of psilocybin mushrooms are magic mushrooms or shrooms. There are nearly 180 species of mushrooms, which are psychedelic (psilocybin or psilocin) in nature. They are chemically related to illicit drug LSD. It causes reactions like vomiting, nausea and stomach pains.

When a person eats magic mushrooms, short term effects can occur like, they feel relaxed and tired, have unusual thoughts, feel too heavy or too light, hallucinations, feeling confused or paranoid (suspicious), mild raise in blood pressure, heartbeat and breathing, dizziness, disturbed stomach, nausea, shivering or sweating, numbness of the tongue, lips or mouth, have big pupils.

Users can become psychologically dependent but do not cause physical dependence. Even after withdrawal from drug for few days, the user will feel the effects again.
