NASA advances in Robotic Technology

Engineers and scientists from NASA and General Motors (GM) are working together on a space act agreement at the agency's Johnson Space Center. NASA and GM are developing the next generation of robots and related technologies. These technologies are used in the automotive and aerospace industries. NASA has developed a new dexterous humanoid robot.

The two organizations are working together for the development of the next iteration of Robonaut 2 (R2). The new generation robots are faster and more dexterous robots and these are more technologically and advanced robots. R2 robot is a human like robot and it can do work by using its hands and fingers. New generation robots works both on earth and in space.

The General Motors said that the space act agreement is about safer cars and advanced vehicle safety system. GM is also playing an important role in the development of Lunar Rover Vehicle. Lunar Rover Vehicle is the first vehicle to be used on the moon. The humans and robots work side-by-side to create the highest quality products in the automotive and aerospace industries.
