Uses Of Automation In Chemical Industry

Automation technology is an integral and most important technology in the plants of chemical industry, since the beginning of industrial chemistry. The evolution of process automation involves the specific requirements of process industry and the innovation cycles of instrumentation technology and control theory. Chemical production plants are becoming fruitful and are inspiring the field of automation with an enormous influence on production economy. Automation today is a technology which is used for improving the production efficiency and operational excellence of chemical processes. These materials are used in various sectors like aeronautical space, biotechnology and IT. Automation makes modifications of the existing process and becomes more cost effective.

The plant design automation is used for improving piping, equipment, structures etc. Almost all chemical industries require huge amount of piping to work with various fluids. Moreover the progress in the industry is totally dependent upon the kind of automation tools that are being used. Initially the automation has been done to track out the multiple processes by using panel control rooms in chemical industry. And again DCS operator uses the present automation techniques and in each and every step of automation new ways are found for accessing the information. With the use of automation the plants are doing their operations smoothly.

Uses of automation in chemical industry:
  • Automation is widely in chemicals, petro chemicals and power plant in order to meet the constraints. The second aspect is that of safety, it plays a major role in determining safety of the process.
  • Technologies that allow perfect utilization of assets for a given investment could make the plant to work effectively. So, in order to meet those requirements automation technologies are available. So, the cost of the product decreases and even the plants will cope up with the present competitive industries.
  • Digital automation architecture has managed to modify the process automation by using various intelligent techniques to improve quality, output and availability that result in significant reductions in operating cost.
  • An excellent application in the field of chemical industry would include using wireless solutions to obtain accurate measurements like pressure, temperature and vibration from moving vessels without having to connect wires to the measurement devices.
Thus the above uses made automation to be used in every chemical industry.
