It is not sure that when people started wearing clothes, but anthropologists give estimates that it would be between 100,000 to 500,000 years ago. Archeologists have identified sewing needles of bone and ivory in the early stages of 30,000 BC in Russia. According to archaeologists and anthropologists, the first clothing is made from fur, leather, leaves, or grass that were draped, wrapped or tied around the body. Later neolithic cultures discovered the advantages of woven fibers over animal hides, the making of cloth, drawing on basketry techniques, emerged as one of humankind's fundamental technologies. Humans invented techniques like weaving, spinning and other mechanized techniques for making the fabric used in manufacturing the clothes in the later periods. The invention of the sewing machine helped in the growth of ready made clothing industry.
