Know How a Quartz Infrared Heater Work?

Electric heaters are commonly used by homeowners these days to ensure warmth in winter. Among the many different types of electric heaters, quartz infrared heaters are popular, efficient and well-preferred home heaters. Go on to know how these heaters work.

Quartz infrared heaters run on electricity. They include an electrical element, usually a tungsten wire. It is present inside a clear tube that is made of quartz crystal. When electric current flows into the wire, it gets heated up. The quartz tube surrounding it traps the heat inside making the element more hotter. Upon getting hotter, the tungsten wire emits infrared light.

The infrared radiation thus emitted from the heater distributes throughout the room. It strikes the objects and individuals in its path and converts to heat. Therefore, direct and instant heat is experienced by quartz infrared heaters. Also, the radiation is uniform and spread throughout the room. So, these heaters ensure even heat wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling. Also, some of these heaters have reflectors which make the radiation to focus in one specific direction. While certain quartz infrared heaters have quartz tubes, some others have quartz lamps.

Quartz infrared heaters are quite different from traditional convection heaters and are much beneficial. Installation and maintenance of quartz infrared heaters is easy. These heaters are also affordable and hence, are better choice for home heating. Understanding the working of a quartz infrared heater is necessary before purchasing it. When any problem arises with the heater, you can know the fault and find the right solution.
