Types of Textiles Used for Towel Making

Towel making is a huge process. It involves spinning, warping, weaving, bleaching, dyeing, cutting, folding and packing. For all these process to move a head textile is required. Each and every process involves doing some thing to the fabric. So it plays an important role. There are different kinds of fabric which are used in the preparation of towels.
Let us check few of them.

Cotton: Cotton is a most commonly used fabric for each and every clothing. Since it is made from the natural plant materials they are soft, smooth and are highly durable. Because of their quick absorbent quality most of the towels are made using this fabric. Cotton towels are available in different colors and patterns and do have a long life when compared to other towels.

Cotton and Polyester: Polyester is not directly used for towel making since it has a very poor water absorbing quality. So the better way to use them is by mixing the fabric with the more absorbing cotton. Then it can be turned in to a partially absorbing fabric which can be bought at very less price when compared to cotton.

Terry Cloth: Another popular kind of material used for towel making is Terry cloth. Terry cloth is a fabric with loops which can absorb higher amounts of water. They are manufactured by either weaving or knitting. This fabric is used for making baby towels, towels, bath robes, bed linen etc.

Waffle Fabric: Waffle Fabric is also called as Honey Comb Fabric. This fabric is usually made of cotton or micro fiber which increases its absorbing capacity. The weave of the fabric allows the air to freely pass through it and hence it will be dried very quickly and easily.

Micro Fiber: Micro fiber refers to synthetic fibers. They are made up of polyester or poly amide. It can be made with out weaving, by weaving or by knitting. If the micro fiber is combined with a right knitting process it creates an extremely good cleaning material. This fabric is used in making the towels especially which are used at swimming pools since they take very less time to dry.
These are some commonly used fabrics in the manufacturing of towels.
